About the Winter School

The relaunch of a respected Alexandria-based educational platform after more than a decade.

Event summary

A regional & international hub

The 13th Winter School in Cranio-Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery represents the relaunch of a respected Alexandria-based educational platform after more than a decade. Building on the legacy of 12 previous editions, the 2027 Winter School is designed as a high-quality regional and international hub for contemporary surgical education, multidisciplinary exchange, and practical skills development.

The School will bring together surgeons, dental specialists, allied health professionals, trainees, academics, and industry partners through a structured three-day scientific program, complemented by dedicated practical workshops on the surrounding days. It will be hosted at the prestigious Bibliotheca Alexandrina, providing an internationally recognizable setting for scientific excellence, networking, and professional collaboration.

The scientific program is structured around three progressive learning levels—Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced—allowing delegates to select education that is appropriate to their experience and clinical interests, across seven key tracks.

A central strength of the Winter School is its practical training program of hands-on workshops using TMJ simulators, artificial skulls, fresh-frozen cadaveric models, and phantom-head simulation. Workshop subjects include TMJ arthroscopy, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, neck dissection, advanced neck surgery, salivary gland surgery, rhinoplasty, and cleft lip and palate surgery.

Our aim

The 13th Winter School aims to position Alexandria as a leading destination for surgical skills training in the region, connect senior experts with the next generation of clinicians, promote modern clinical practices such as virtual planning and digital workflows, and create meaningful value for delegates, faculty, sponsors, exhibitors, and academic partners.

Welcome address from the Conference Board

Dear Colleagues, Distinguished Guests, and Friends,

It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the 13th Winter School in Cranio-Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery, an international gathering dedicated to the evolving fields of Cranio-Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery.

This congress brings together distinguished surgeons, academics, researchers, and young professionals from around the world to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and explore the latest advances in surgical science and clinical practice.

Our specialty continues to evolve rapidly, driven by innovation in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, craniofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, craniofacial deformities, microsurgery, tissue engineering, 3D planning, digital technologies, and emerging surgical techniques. This progress creates an exciting opportunity to learn from one another and to translate scientific advances into better patient care.

We have designed a comprehensive scientific program that combines state-of-the-art lectures, interactive panels, challenging case discussions, live demonstrations, and hands-on workshops, providing valuable opportunities for both established experts and the next generation of surgeons.

A special emphasis has been placed on fostering collaboration between different surgical disciplines. We believe that the future of cranio-maxillofacial and plastic surgery lies not only in technical excellence, but also in multidisciplinary teamwork, innovation, education, and continuous improvement.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our international and national faculty, scientific and organizing committees, supporting institutions, and industry partners for their invaluable contributions to this congress.

Most importantly, I welcome our young surgeons and trainees. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to learning are essential to the future of our specialty. We hope this meeting will provide you with knowledge, inspiration, professional connections, and lasting collaborations.

We look forward to an inspiring scientific experience, meaningful discussions, and the opportunity to build new bridges between colleagues and institutions from around the world.

Welcome to Alexandria, welcome to the 13th Winter School in Cranio-Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery, and welcome to a meeting where science, innovation, and surgical excellence come together.
